DMLcentral.net is the online presence for the Digital Media and Learning Research Hub located at the systemwideUniversity of California Humanities Research Institute and hosted at the UC Irvine campus. We think digital media practices are fundamentally reshaping society in far-reaching ways, especially in how people all around the world are learning and connecting with one another.

Neste Vídeo, Kevin Kelly reflete sobre os primeiros e próximos 5000 dias da Word Wide Web e fala da formação de uma grande Máquina planetária que se assemelha a um buraco negro, puxando tudo para dentro dela. Tudo estará na internet (Internet das Coisas). Em alguns anos até nossos comandos cerebrais serão digitalizados para manipular remotamente nossos corpos maquínicos. Pelo menos é para onde apontam os estudos na área da nanotecnologia e das interfaces cérebro-máquina (comandos motores digitalizados).
Essa idéia de uma Máquina única, conforme colocado pelo Kelly, aproxima-se do que o André Lemos chama de Computador Coletivo-CC, que seria uma evolução do Personal Computer-PC, e do Cybionte, um organismo formado por cérebros e redes de computadores, conforme proposto por Rosnay.

Cmappers is part of the Knowledge Modeling and Sharing research project at the Insitute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) with support from Microsoft Corporation. The site is highly integrated with the CmapTools software for constructing and sharing concept maps. The site will be updated with new tools as they become available.

And one thing we’ll be able to do is send millions of nanobots, blood cell-sized devices, inside our bloodstream. They’ll keep us healthy from inside. They’ll go inside our brains and interact with our biological neurons, just the way neural implants do today, and put our brains on the Internet, make us smarter, provide full-immersion virtual reality from within the nervous system. And so, we will become a hybrid of biological and non-biological intelligence.
So over time, the non-biological portion of our intelligence will predominate, and that’s basically what we mean by the singularity. When you get out to 2045, we’ll have multiplied the overall intelligence of the human/machine civilization a billionfold, and that’s such a profound transformation that we call it a singularity.
